Lingkotech Takes Part in Creative Economy Ecosystem Strengthening Dialogue with Minister of Creative Economy

Lingkotech, a Digital Agency Labuan Bajo, had the opportunity to join a strategic discussion on strengthening the creative economy ecosystem together with the Minister of Creative Economy/Head of the Creative Economy Agency, Mr. Teuku Riefky Harsya, on Friday, November 11th 2025. The forum was held at Puncak Waringin, Labuan Bajo.

This event was attended by ten creative economy and local MSME actors from Manggarai Barat, representing the craft, culinary, fashion, and photography subsectors. The gathering was facilitated by the Labuan Bajo Flores Tourism Authority (LBFTA) and the Regional Government of Manggarai Barat as part of their commitment to advancing the creative economy in the Labuan Bajo – Super Priority Tourism Destination.

During the forum, each participant was given the opportunity to introduce their business, share ongoing challenges, and deliver insights to strengthen the creative ecosystem in the region.

Founder of Lingkotech, Engel Vione, expressed his appreciation for the initiative taken by both central and regional authorities to open dialogue with local creative players.

“Lingkotech was established during the pandemic to support local MSMEs and tourism players through digital solutions, especially Website Development Services in Labuan Bajo that empower businesses to grow online. The name ‘Lingkotech’ comes from ‘Lingko,’ the traditional collaborative land system of Manggarai, reflecting our mission to bring technology that connects and strengthens the community,” said Engel.

Over the past three years, Lingkotech has successfully developed dozens of websites across various sectors. Notable projects include the official website of Festival Golo Koe, which was selected as part of the Top 10 Karisma Event Nusantara, as well as the Wae Lolos tourism website, supporting its achievement as Best Tourism Village by Bank Indonesia in the NTT region.

Engel also highlighted the rapid development of technology and the importance of adaptability.

“The biggest challenge in the digital industry is keeping up with technological acceleration like artificial intelligence. We hope continued support from both central and regional governments will ensure that innovation from Eastern Indonesia also contributes significantly to the national creative economy,” he added.

Responding to the participants, Minister Teuku Riefky Harsya emphasized that creative economy development is a national priority.

“Learning from the COVID-19 pandemic, we realized that tourism is a powerful engine of the economy — but creative economy is equally essential. When tourism slows down, the creative industry must be ready to become the next economic backbone,” said the Minister.

He further stated the importance of listening directly to local creative players to ensure inclusive growth.

“Our creative subsectors are growing rapidly. To ensure equitable development, we must understand the needs of creative actors across the nation — including those in Labuan Bajo and NTT,” he added.
