Launching the Wae Lolos Official Website!
There are moments that remind me why I started Lingkotech — and the launch of wisatawaelolos.com is definitely one of them.
This is how technology and tradition can walk hand in hand in the beautiful village of Wae Lolos, West Manggarai. Together with the Cunca Plias Pokdarwis (Tourism Group) and the super passionate eLBajo Commodus Polytechnic Research Team, we officially launched the official website of Wae Lolos Tourism Village.
This isn’t just “another website.” It’s a digital gateway for travelers around the world to discover why Wae Lolos is called the Village of a Thousand Waterfalls.
The Story Behind the Website
The launch happened under the program BERDIKARI EKOSMIRA (Penguatan Ekosistem Kemitraan untuk Pengembangan Inovasi Berbasis Potensi Daerah / Strengthening Partnership Ecosystems for Regional Potential-Based Innovation Development), a program series organized by the Direktorat Jenderal Minat Saintek, Kementerian Sains, Teknologi, dan Pendidikan Tinggi (Kemendiktisaintek) through the Lembaga Pengelola Dana Pendidikan (LPDP). The theme was “Smart Traditional Tourism Village Innovation to Increase the Competitiveness of Tourism Villages” — with Wae Lolos as the living case study.
The research team didn’t stop at just helping with the site. They also drafted a business plan and a business model canvas for the Pokdarwis. That means the village now has a clear roadmap to grow its tourism in a smart and sustainable way.
Why This Matters
When Roseven Rudiyanto, Head of the Research Team, said that Wae Lolos has “a large tourist market potential,” I couldn’t agree more. The waterfalls, the culture, the warmth of the people — it’s exactly the kind of authentic experience travelers crave.
And now, with wisatawaelolos.com, that uniqueness is just a click away.
Robert Perkasa, the Head of Cunca Plias Pokdarwis, shared something that made me smile:
“We’ve already used this website for promotions, including at the 2025 Bali & Beyond Travel Fair (BBTF). The impact is already visible in the increase in tourist visits.”, he said.
That’s the power of going digital — reach more people, tell your story better, and invite them to experience it for themselves.
Community Pride
The Village Head, Gervinus Toni, also shared his gratitude, saying that this collaboration is an important step to advance Wae Lolos. For me, hearing this kind of appreciation makes every line of code, every late-night debugging session, 100% worth it.
Because Lingkotech was never just about websites. It’s about creating bridges between local communities and global travelers.
What’s Inside wisatawaelolos.com?
We kept it simple and useful:
- What to Do — Trekking, swimming, photography, and even cultural rituals.
- What to See — The waterfalls, the sky pool, the landscapes that will make you forget Instagram filters.
- What to Buy — Local souvenirs that carry a piece of Wae Lolos home with you.
The site is built to grow alongside the village — professional, measurable, and sustainable.
My Two Cents
As a founder, I feel proud that Lingkotech can contribute to making Wae Lolos shine brighter on the tourism map. This website isn’t the end goal; it’s the first step toward bigger dreams: professional tourism management, stronger community income, and a sustainable future for the next generation.
If you haven’t yet, go check out wisatawaelolos.com.
And if you’re planning a trip to Flores, trust me — Wae Lolos deserves a spot on your itinerary.
