Supporting the Digital Transformation of the Church: Lingkotech Develops Official Website for Merombok Catholic Parish
Labuan Bajo, May 17, 2026 — The celebration of the 60th World Communications Day became a meaningful milestone for Gereja Santa Theresia dari Kanak-kanak Yesus Merombok as the parish officially launched its website and digital social media platforms on Sunday (17/5/2026).
For me personally, as the Founder of Lingkotech, this project is more than simply building a website. It represents how technology can support pastoral services, strengthen communication within the Church, and help religious communities remain connected in today’s digital era.
The official parish website is now accessible at gerejakatolikmerombok.org.
The launch ceremony was led directly by Parish Priest Rev. Fr. Antonius Sanor together with Parish Pastoral Council Chairman Willy Cungkuru through a symbolic LED screen activation during the Sunday Eucharistic celebration, witnessed enthusiastically by parishioners.
In his remarks, Rev. Fr. Antonius Sanor emphasized the importance of digital media as a modern instrument of evangelization and Church communication.
“Through digital media, we are called to present the compassionate face of Christ and bring hope to all people. Therefore, let us continue supporting the Church’s communication ministry so that digital media may truly become a means of evangelization and fraternity,” said Rev. Fr. Antonius Sanor.
He also encouraged parishioners to actively use the parish’s official website and social media channels to access Church information, pastoral services, and community activities.
For Lingkotech, being entrusted with developing the website platform is a meaningful responsibility. We believe that digital technology should not only serve businesses and commercial industries, but also support institutions that carry social, educational, cultural, and spiritual missions.
As someone who comes from Flores and continues to observe the region’s digital development, I see enormous opportunities for local institutions — including churches — to embrace technology in ways that are positive, accessible, and community-oriented.
The website was designed as an interactive digital pastoral platform featuring:
- the sacrament of baptism registrations
- the sacrament of first communion registration
- the sacrament of confirmation registration
- the sacrament of marriage registration
- Marriage Preparation Course (KPP) registration
- parish announcements
- daily and weekly reflections
- Church activity publications
We also developed the website with a responsive mobile-friendly interface because most users today access information primarily through smartphones.
For me, one of the most meaningful aspects of this project is seeing how digital platforms can help strengthen the relationship between the Church and its people. Technology should not distance humanity — it should help communities become more connected, informed, and engaged.
The launch of this website during World Communications Day also carries strong symbolic value. It reflects the Church’s willingness to adapt to changing times while continuing to uphold its pastoral mission and spiritual values.
I believe this initiative can inspire more churches and community institutions across Flores and Eastern Indonesia to begin exploring digital transformation in ways that remain rooted in local identity, humanity, and service.
At Lingkotech, we remain committed to helping local institutions, tourism businesses, creative communities, and organizations across Flores grow through technology, digital branding, and sustainable innovation.
This collaboration with Merombok Parish is one small step toward a broader vision: ensuring that digital transformation in Flores is not only about technology itself, but also about empowering people, communities, and meaningful human connection.
